

Deborah was the daughter of Helen and Bernard Townsend. She attended Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery and was of the Baptist faith.
She married Larry Ketchum on October 7, 1996, in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Together they shared a life filled with travel and adventure.
Deborah worked in payroll for J & M Tank Lines. Outside of work, she enjoyed traveling, snorkeling, and playing games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Bernard Townsend, and her sister, Monica Stokes.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Ketchum; her children, Kim Speed (Kendall) and Lori Brumfield (Jeff); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brothers, Darrell Townsend and Waymond Townsend; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In accordance with Deborah's wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes will be scattered in the ocean in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
