

Donald Henderson of Chelsea, Alabama entered the Gates of Heaven on March 6, 2025. Don was born in Nashville, TN, and moved to Birmingham, AL, as a young child. He grew up in Mountain Brook and graduated from Shades Valley High School.
Don graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Chemistry and was a member of the KA Fraternity.
Don was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army and served as a Forward Observer during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart.
Don loved golfing throughout his life and watching Alabama Football with his family.
Don was proud to become an ordained minister through Advocate Ministries as a Non-Denominational Pastor. His goal in life was to spread the word and help people find Jesus.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Henderson and Shannon Doyle Pringle, and his son, David Henderson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Sherry Austin Henderson; children, Richard Henderson (Melanie) of Helena, AL, Sandy Daugherty (Will) of Helena, AL, Cecilia Hartz (Andrew) of Helena, AL; grandchildren, Reed Henderson, Brittney Henderson, Allie Daugherty, and Anna Clay Daugherty.
The family will have a private graveside at Alabama National Cemetery.
