Donald was born on January 14, 1949, in Lake City, Iowa, to Dean Perry and Jean Perry. He grew up in Lake City and received his formal education in Lohrville, Iowa. He later attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he earned a business degree and was a member of Theta Kappa Alpha.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a software developer, working for Bank of America and Compass Bank until his retirement in 2020.
On October 18, 2008, Donald married Judith Perry in Birmingham, Alabama. Together they shared many happy years and a loving blended family.
Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling to new places, working in the yard, grilling, and spending time on his computer. He was a proud member of the Shriners and attended Riverchase Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Perry and Jean Perry.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judith Perry; his children, Kenton Perry, Heather Perry, Alan Adelberg, and Stefanie Adelberg; six grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Donald will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
