Donna Wheeler Miranda, age 63 of Birmingham, AL passed away November 13, 2016. Donna spent her life caring for others in every sense of the word. As a nurse, she was a pioneer in the field of Psychiatric Home Health, setting a precedence for treating others with compassion and dignity no matter their circumstances. She loved and cared for her family with the same amount of passion and cherished every moment spent with those she loved.
She is survived by her mother, Marie Wheeler; daughters, Christy (Matt) Miranda McLean, Jill Miranda and Lindsay (Jason) Miranda Young; grandchildren, Brooks, Liliana, Collin, Katelyn and Everett; mother-in-law, Jeanette Miranda and a host of family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny “Pee-Wee” Miranda; father, Dempsey Ray Wheeler and father-in-law, Sam C. Miranda.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm with a Celebration of Life Service starting at 3:00pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations in Donna’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
