Dorothy Gail Linn

Dorothy Gail Linn, 94, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her Christian principles and her love for the Bible – reading the Bible through each year. Dorothy spent her last days enjoying the birds, flowers and reading.

Mrs. Linn is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G. Linn, Sr.; parents, Paul S. and Sophia A. Jackson; brothers, Alvin Jackson, Peter Jackson, Paul Jackson and George Jackson; sister, Edna Jackson Wilson; and son-in-law, Gene Jones. She is survived by her son, Lloyd G. Linn, Jr. (Peggy); daughters, Jeanie Jones and Elaine Ritchie; sister, Jackie Yopp of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Jeff Jones (Jill), Cindy Jones O’Dell (Andy), Beth Linn Clark, Gregg Linn (Melissa) and David Ritchie; and great grandchildren, Emily O’Dell, Ally O’Dell, Ezekiel Jones, Julia Linn, Sara Linn, Spencer Linn, Summerlinn Clark, McLaurin Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Linn family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to New Beacon Hospice and caregivers, Kristine Williams and Tera Stowe for their care and compassion during Dorothy’s illness.

The celebration of Dorothy’s life will be at 2pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
