After the death of her husband , William Jackson Martin, Dorothy supported herself and her family for over 25 years, by owning and operating a neighborhood grocery store .
She worked hard all her life and truly loved and was devoted to all of her family.
She is survived by her only child Billie Cunningham and her husband Jim. Her grandchildren Ginger Cunningham of Birmingham, AL and Dr. Martin Cunningham (Dr. Jennifer) of Mobile, AL., her great grandchildren Abby Cunningham, Will Cunningham, Gwen Cunningham, and Lilly Cunningham of Mobile, AL. She is also survived by her nieces Vicki Glenn (Rick), Kathy Jurovich (Eddie) Mildred Wyatt (James) and June Powell
Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with a family Graveside Service to follow at 2:00 PM May 6, 2010 at Forest Hill Cemetery .
