He is survived by his son, Willey Gibson Fields; mother, Judith Anne Fields; sister and brother-in-law, Holly Ann and Christian Carter; nephew, Coleman McWilliams Carter; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends. Doug was a kind, generous and beautiful soul.
The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Doug Fields Memorial Fund to benefit his son Wiley's college education. Donations can be made at any local Compass Bank branch or mailed to the Trussville Compass Bank location, 5990 Chalkville Mountain Road, Trussville, AL 35235.
