

A 1956 graduate of Hueytown High School, Doug was a third generation homebuilder and retired from Hercules, Inc. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He loved coaching Little League baseball and football in Hueytown, Alabama and was an avid BAMA football fan. Always willing to help anyone in need; he will be loved and missed forever.
Doug was preceded in death by his precious son, Glen Lantrip; his parents, J.O. and Cleo Lantrip; his brother, Johnny Lantrip; and his sisters, Lailah Smith and Jo Ann Waid.
Survivors include Doug's beloved, loving wife of 62 years, Gail Ellis Lantrip, and his sons, Greg (Connie) Lantrip and Gary Lantrip. He is also survived by his special grandchildren, Krystle (David) Whitman, Brittney (Clay) Clark, Gunnar Lantrip, and Harleigh Lantrip; three precious great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Brown; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Due to COVID-19, a graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer, Alabama on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 2 p.m.
