With profound sadness and unwavering hope in Christ, we announce the passing of Dylan Robert Rizzo, who entered eternity due to cardiac arrest related to a recently diagnosed heart condition on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 30.
Though his life was brief, Dylan filled it with purpose, love, faith, and vision to love people and serve the local church through various ministries. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue through his family, his friendships, and the countless lives he touched. His family finds peace knowing that he is in the arms of Jesus.
Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 7, 1996, Dylan was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose life was marked by creativity, vision, and an entrepreneurial spirit. He had a unique ability to dream, build, and inspire those around him. Whether through his work, his relationships, or his many pursuits, Dylan approached life with passion, innovation, and a genuine love for people. His unique creative gifting was most evident in his role as founder of Baggy Pants Golf, a clothing company, and his corporate leadership roles as co-founder of Tour Caddy and Vzion Creative.
Dylan never met a stranger. He was known for his quick wit, contagious enthusiasm, and ability to bring ideas to life. He saw possibilities where others saw obstacles and encouraged those around him to dream bigger and live with purpose. His presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his impact extended far beyond what he could have imagined.
A gifted athlete, Dylan attended Briarwood Christian School, where he competed in both football and basketball. Throughout his life, Dylan treasured the friendships he made and the lessons he learned through sports and competition.
A devoted member of Church of the Highlands, Dylan’s life was shaped by his relationship with God. He made cherished friends everywhere but prized his family members above all others. He enjoyed golf, design, and creating meaningful experiences with the people he loved most.
Above all, Dylan treasured his family. Becoming a husband to Layne Stone Rizzo on July 8, 2024, and a father to Redding Robert Rizzo were the greatest blessings of his life. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He felt he married the most beautiful girl in the world and was proud to be Layne’s husband. Redding’s laugh was his constant pursuit and favorite noise.
He is survived by his loving wife, Layne Stone Rizzo; his son, Redding Robert Rizzo; his parents, Dino and Delynn Rizzo; his sisters, McCall Haymon and Isabella Rizzo; his brother-in-law, Trey Haymon; his niece, Harlow Haymon; his grandparents, Wayne and Dee Austin; his aunts and uncles, Mitch and Candace Mula, Phil and Sheila Troutman, and Dena Rizzo; and his cousins, Roman Mula, Sierra Mula, Nathan Troutman, and Justin Troutman.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Gloria Rizzo, Ernestine York, and Gertrude Austin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. at Church of the Highlands, Grants Mill Campus, Birmingham, AL. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Redding Robert Rizzo Trust, established by friends of the family to support the future of Dylan and Layne’s son, Redding.
