Ed Meacham, 93 of Pelham, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, July 8. Ed served as a deacon at West End Highlands Baptist Church, South Park Baptist church and First Baptist Church of Pelham. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Mr. Meacham is preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Dorothy “Dot” Hinch Meacham; parents, Edgar Morris Meacham and Edna Alderman Meacham. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Carpenter (John); son, C. Leroy Meacham (Fran); grandchildren, Johnnie Elaine Crittenden (David), Brian Meacham and Meredith Meacham; and great grandchildren, Joseph Crittenden and William Crittenden.
The celebration of Mr. Meacham’s life will be at 1pm on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with burial following in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Mike Shaw will officiate the service, and the deacons from First Baptist Church of Pelham will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers are appreciated; however, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pelham building fund.
