Edna Lucille “Cill” Ellison passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the age of 86 in her home after a brief illness surrounded by her loved ones. Daughter to the late Carl and Lettie Davenport, of Siluria, Alabama, she was born on October 17, 1933, in Jemison, Alabama. The family moved to the Pelham area when she was young, where she resided until her death. She is survived by daughters Beverly Swanger (Terry), Paula Ellison; grandchildren Kara Marchman (Alan), Andrea Mashburn (Jim), Matthew Ellison (Laci) and Jacob Ellison; great grandchildren; Nicolas Morris, Wyatt Morris, Ian Hester, Riley Marchman, Maxwell Ellison and Ellison Mashburn; sister Carolyn Brasher; special friends Olivia Hammons and Duane Motes, as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. She is preceded in death by husband Wanye “Pete” Ellison, sons Douglas and Mickey Ellison (Kim) and brother Sonny Davenport and sister Aileen Davenport.
She will be remembered as a devoted wife of 68 years, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Cill was happiest surrounded by her family and loved ones who will carry with them fond memories of her generosity; days spent on the creek bank fishing; barbecues with fresh churned ice cream; and never leaving her house hungry. Cill will be dearly missed.
Her family and friends will gather Friday, January 24, 2019 at 11:30 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home to celebrate her life and grieve her loss. Burial will follow at the Pelham Cemetery.
