

Eileen Browne Bostick of Pelham, Alabama passed away peacefully on July 27th, 2024 at age 88. She was born in Richmond, Virginia to Dr. and Mrs. Arkell Browne. Eileen graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was married for almost 67 years to the love of her life, Graham Wilson Bostick. Together they had a very exciting life that was full of lots of love and laughs. Eileen is survived by her spouse, Graham Wilson Bostick, daughter, Kimberly Anne Bostick, daughter, Celeste Bostick Williams, son-law, John Kent Williams, grandson, Graham Winston Williams, and granddaughter, Melissa Eileen Williams. as well as two sisters, Millicent Carol Browne and Jeannie Helen Browne.
Eileen’s life journey was very full and vibrant. The world is a better place because of Eileen. She always considered others more important than herself. Eileen worked as a social worker in North Carolina for several years until she and Graham and their 2 daughters moved to Alabama in 1969. She spent the next several years raising their two daughters, being a devoted wife, volunteering with several organizations, and teaching tole painting. Eileen began a long career at Kirkwood by the River Retirement Community starting as the activities director and ending as the marketing director. Many were blessed by her abundant talent and overwhelming kindness. Even though work kept her busy, she always made time to travel the world and visited six continents. Upon retirement, Eileen and Graham travelled extensively in the United States and experienced many adventures all over the country. Collecting teapots on her travels was a highlight and she was proud to have collected over 250 English teapots. Supporting Graham in his photographing of the country was very enjoyable and important to her. She always kept her suitcase packed and was ready for the next trip. She enjoyed worship at Independent Presbyterian Church, activities at the Pelham Senior Center and lunch around town with the Pelham Red Hat Society. Eileen was an avid reader, Rummikub player and Alabama fan. Known affectionately as Nana, she was a loving, supportive grandmother and the biggest cheerleader for Graham and Melissa.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Independent Presbyterian Church Birmingham, AL on Friday, August 16th at 2:00 PM. Afternoon tea will be served afterwards.
