Eunice earned her college degree in Special Education at Illinois State University. Her professional career was as a Special Education teacher in public schools.
Eunice was active in the Shelby Baptist Medical Center Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society, and the Ladies Sodality at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. In her leisure, she loved playing bridge, sewing, traveling, and spending time with family.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Pearl Carolan; her son, Sean Stagner; and her sister, Mary Ellen Rand.
Survivors include Eunice's husband of 57 years, Ross Stagner; her daughter, Suzanne Key; her daughter-in-law, Stacy Stagner; grandchildren, Courtney Choquette (Corey), Madison Key, and Lacey Cole (Austin); great-grandchildren, Olivia Clark, Levi Choquette, Asher Choquette, Tatum Choquette, and Sutton Choquette; and sister-in-law, Joan Chance.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama from 9-10 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be at the church's columbarium.
The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Susan G. Komen, or Alzheimer's in memory and honor of Eunice Ann Stagner.
