Fay was a graduate of J.B. Pennington High School in Blountsville, Alabama. She was a very proud housewife and homemaker for her husband, Alton Burk Dunaway, and their two children, Michael and Kristie.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Alton; her parents, Carmen and Clara Blackwood; and a brother, Royce Blackwood. She is survived by her son, Michael Burk Dunaway; her daughter, Kristie Dunaway Thornton; her grandson, Patrick Dunaway; one sister, Sue Edwards; one brother, Clifton Blackwood; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Pelham City Cemetery, 158 Bearden Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
