He was born in Magnolia, Mississippi in Amite County on December 23, 1939. Clint graduated from the University of Mississippi and received a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. Clint had a career as a project engineer for Washington Group, Raytheon, Rust International, Boise Cascade, and International Paper. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard at Fort Knox in Kentucky. His military decorations - expert rifleman and expert badge. Clint was a member of the Louisiana Jaycees and a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi - Ole Miss. He loved watching his Rebels play football.
Clint had a passion for hunting and fishing, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his bride of 62 years, and hosting countless fish fries at his home on the Coosa River. He was an avid gardener, maintaining an annual garden filled with vegetables, fruit trees, and muscadine grapevines for making jelly with Jackie. He loved attending Sunday church service at Shades Mountain Community Church with his wife, and he loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart. He was a very generous person, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He made everyone feel welcome. He counseled many people who came for advice.
Clint is survived by his wife Jackie, his children John Cleveland, Amy Carlino, and Carmen Brough (Jason), his six grandchildren Isabella Carlino, Thomas Carlino, Sophia Brough, Jack Brough, Luke Brough and Caroline Brough, and his sisters JoAnn Carruth and Camille Carruth and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Clinton Floyd Cleveland and Lois Augustus Powell Cleveland, his sister Janice Moore, his brother in-laws Jimmy Carruth, and Leslie “Butch” Carruth.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Shades Mountain Community Church at 2281 Old Tyler Road, Birmingham, AL 35226. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with the funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
A graveside service will be held at the cemetery of East Fork Baptist Church at 4505 N. Greensburg Road, Smithdale, MS 39664 (Amite County) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday September 25, 2026.
