He was born December 3, 1957 in Savannah, Georgia to Frank and Annette Rowell. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1977. On September 6, 1979 he married the love of his life, Jo Beth Miller. They raised two children together, Chad and Megan.
Floyd was a son, husband, brother, father, uncle, Grandaddy, coach, a career electrician, woodworker, and fisherman. He believed in Auburn and loved it and never missed a moment to cheer on the Atlanta Braves.
He is preceded in death by his father, Selmer Franklin Rowell, and survived by his mother, Myrtle Annette McClellan; wife, Jo, and two children, Chad and Megan Hollingsworth (Chase); granddaughters, Millie and Hallie Hollingsworth; brother, William and sister, Anita Campbell (David); and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, January 5, 2025. The viewing will begin at 1:00 pm with service to follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to local humane societies.
