

Born on June 12, 1947, in Birmingham, Lynette was the daughter of Billie Frances Gaydon Gower Howard and Louis Vernon Gower.
She spent her early years in Birmingham before moving to Mobile where she was a proud graduate of Murphy High School. She went on to build a long and dedicated career with BellSouth in Birmingham, where she retired after 35 years of service. Known for her warm heart and creative spirit, she found joy in baking, cooking for others, crafting, plus collecting angels and flowers. Above all, her greatest happiness came from time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Howard; her father, LV Gower; and her brothers, Larry Gower and Leslie Gower; her sister Linda Wideman.
Lynette is survived by her brother, Lanny Gower (Darilyn); her daughters’, Stephanie Harris and Angie Alexander (Jeff) as well as their father, her former husband, Larry Gulsby; her granddaughter, Courtney McLeroy (Justin); her grandson, Carson Alexander; and her three cherished great-grandchildren, Hudson, Sawyer, and Sutton McLeroy. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In her later years, Lynette spent much of her time at the Pelham Senior Center, where she enjoyed crafting, baking, listening to live music, and playing games with close friends who became like family.
A celebration of Lynette’s life will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2 p.m. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend.
