Francis Carolyn Helms Duke, 83, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away Friday morning, June 29, 2018. She was a life-long resident of the Birmingham, Alabama area and a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.
Carolyn loved going on trips to the Smokey Mountains, especially Cade’s Cove. Her favorite pastimes, however, involved spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
Carolyn was predeceased by one son, Randal Wayne Duke; one brother; and two sisters.
Survivors include Carolyn's loving husband of 63 years, Newton James Duke; one son, James Timothy Duke (Vanessa); two daughters, Pamela Ann Burgess and Kerry Francis Richardson (Tim); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Celebration of Carolyn's Life at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. The 1:15 p.m. gravesite committal service and interment will be Tuesday at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo. Rev. Herman Pair will officiate.
