Frank, or “Bill” to many, was born on August 14, 1940, and raised in Morris, Alabama, on family property first homesteaded in 1862, and still in his family today. He was the first son of Frank William Keith, Sr. and Margaret Helen (Gipson) Keith.
Bill passed away on May 15, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was 82 years old.
He graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School, attended the University of Alabama where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering, and later attended Samford University where he received his MBA. Bill was a consummate learner, never taking for granted the value and importance of higher education. His education led him to a career in public utilities and to researching approaches to electric power generation. He worked for various subsidiaries of Southern Company and Middle South Utilities in addition to EPRI and Quadrex before starting his own consulting firm, from which he ultimately retired.
His work took him across the US and abroad to many countries, which fit well with his outgoing personality. Bill enjoyed meeting people, building relationships, and helping people and businesses solve problems.
Family was deeply important to Bill. He and his wife, Bobbie, have three children, three in-laws, and four grandchildren who they treasure, love, and enjoy spending time with. Whether related by blood or marriage, Bill embraced all family members equally with unconditional love.
His family will miss him, in many ways they can’t yet imagine, and continue to feel his love.
