Gene Elliott Flynn

Gene was founder and owner of Flynn Distributing, Inc., and a long-time member of Lakeside Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marlin and Millie Elliott Flynn; his uncle and aunt who raised him, Walter and Ellie Elliott; and two grandchildren, Courtney Shores and Daniel Shores.

Survivors include Gene's wife of 70 years, Doris Louise Flynn; one daughter, Elizabeth Louise Shores (David); two sons, Ronald Gene Flynn (Mary Anne) and Randy Lee Flynn (Gale); seven grandchildren, Brad Flynn (Melanie), Darren Flynn, Brian Flynn (Beth), Katie Flynn, William Shores, Alexander Shores, and Emily Shores; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren Flynn, Macie Flynn, Colin Flynn, Olivia Flynn, and Addison Flynn.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Lakeside Baptist Church, Birmingham, with the funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. Burial, Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL, with Dr. Mike McLemore and Dr. Greg Corbin officiating.
