Today we lost one of the finest men of our time. George Berg of Pelham, Alabama passed away at the age of 86. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marian Buckner Berg. He was a veteran of the World War II in the Merchant Marine and went on to serve his Country as an Administrative Assistant on Capitol Hill for 30 years. After retiring from the Government he spent 8 years with The American Farm Bureau. George was full of life till the very end. Those who knew him know that he was charming, thoughtful and a friend to all. He was the guy who did it all right. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son Scott Berg, his daughter Anne Berg Blake, His sister Nancy Lewis and his grandchildren, Jennifer Deremer, Danielle Deremer, George Steven Berg, nieces, nephews and his many close friends and acquaintances.
The family will receive friends on April 14, 2013 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, from 1-2 with a Memorial Service starting at 2pm.
