George E. Hyde

George received his formal education in Fairfield, Alabama. On February 3, 1956, he was united in holy matrimony to Patsy Barnes in Starkville, Mississippi. Their devoted union of 69 years was blessed with three children.

George proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he pursued a career that included service with the police department and many dedicated years in the insurance business.

A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, George treasured time spent with his family, especially with his beloved wife, Patsy. He found great joy in frequent visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives he touched deeply.

George leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patsy Barnes Hyde; his children, Leonard Barnes Hyde (Tannie), Kim Hyde Jett (Chuck), and Karla Hyde Blade (Ted); his brother, Jimmy Hyde; his grandchildren, Evan Hyde (Kara), Garrett Hyde (Cristina), Braxton Jett (Ashley), Keegan Jett (Kelse), Evan Blade, and Kennedy Blade (Cody); nine great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and dear friends.

A committal service will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL, 35124, US. The service is scheduled for January 29, 2026, from 2:00 pm.
