Gregory John O'Connor

Gregory J. O’Connor, 56, formerly of Wayne, PA , died suddenly June 24, 2014 in Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of Archbishop Carroll in Radnor and The University of Pittsburgh, Greg was continuing his career in computer systems technical writing at the time of his death.

His career started with Unisys Corporation in Blue Bell, PA where he worked for many years forming strong friendships in the community. An accomplished distance runner, he participated in both the New York and Boston Marathons. His background in high school ice hockey led him to volunteer his time to coaching youth ice hockey teams in the Warminster, PA area. In later years, his career moved him to Alabama where he settled for the last 17 years of his life.

With strong interests in music, sports and golf he forged many strong friendships over the years. He enjoyed being with family and his larger extended family. His mother, Betty, was one of eight children that had many large reunions over the years.

Mr. O’Connor is survived by two sons, Isaac and Gregjoy, their mother JoyAnn Roett, along with siblings Daniel O’Connor, Chris O’Connor and Lynn O’Connor Vos along with their seven nieces and nephews.
