Hedy LaMarr Knaff Jones, age 77, of Pelham, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 17, 2018. She was employed for several years as an after-school daycare teacher at Oak Mountain Elementary School before helping children at LaPetite Academy.
LaMarr's first love was the Good Lord above and His church to which she was a faithful member to the end. She also loved children, cooking, flowers, and spending time with family and friends. Please don't forget Alabama football. Roll Tide!
LaMarr was predeceased by her parents, Clyde and Rosetta Knaff; step-father, William "Daddy Bill" Lewis; and her step-sister, Juanita Coleman.
Survivors include LaMarr's husband, Donald L. Jones; two daughters, Stephanie Ray and Erica Hudson (Alfonso); one son, Scott Ray; six grandchildren, Ebonie Hudson, Caitlyn Hudson, Christopher Major, Garrett Hudson, Sheldon Ray, and Sydney Ray; four great-grandchildren, Kaden Hudson, Madisyn Hudson, Marion McDonald, and Ma' Liyah McDonald; and a host of beloved family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by A Celebration of Hedy Jones' Life at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel. Brother AL Lyles will officiate.
Later on Monday, July 23, 2018, the gravesite committal service and interment will be at 2:45 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
