Helen Taylor Worrell

Went to be with our Lord on Valentine’s day Feb 14, 2015. Helen was born Nov 3, 1931 in Indianola, Mississippi. Helen grew up in the Mississippi Delta and moved to Birmingham with her family in the 1940’s, graduated from Ensley High School in 1950. Helen married Henry Louis Worrell, an Ensley friend and classmate, in December 1950. Helen held several different employment positions that utilized her secretarial skills including stenography, typing and executive administration. Helen retired from Southern Nuclear Company. She loved music and singing and was active in her church choir and trio. Helen enjoyed square dancing, shopping, going to movies, playing cards and dominoes and fishing. She especially loved visiting with her great grandchildren. Her favorite charity was St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Helen is survived by: Husband, Henry Louis Worrell; Son, Steven Worrell (Diane Davis) & daughter, Susan Holsombeck (Reggie); 3 grandchildren, Rebecca Jones (Warren Jones Jr.), Nathan Holsombeck (Jana Campbell), Jordan Holsombeck (Sarah Letson); 6 great Grandchildren, Ellie and Micah Holsombeck, Ian and Alexander Jones, and twins, Naomi and Eve Holsombeck. Predeceased by: Brother, Lawrence Taylor and Sister, Marguerite Biagioli Yates Arrangements: Visitation from 10-12 at Southern Heritage in Pelham, AL. Funeral serviced held Feb. 18 at 12 noon, graveside service following. Internment at Southern Heritage in Pelham, AL
