Henry Powell Dixon, 73, passed away November 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Floyd Dixon (Chattanooga) and his foster parents, Bessie and Robert Gravitt (Chattanooga), his brother, Floyd Dixon, Jr., and his sister, Patricia Gravitt Sobol.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Goodwin Dixon; his daughter, Amy Dixon Lazenby (John); his son, Rev. Ross Delaney Dixon (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Ian David Lazenby, Andrew Ross Lazenby, Claire Frances Lazenby, and Avery Katherine Dixon; his brother, Kenneth Gravitt (DeJla); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He retired from BellSouth Services in 1996 and worked at Door to Door Services, NTB and Southeast Representative for Tire Kingdom before retiring permanently to do the things he enjoyed: tending to his yard, garage and estate sales, and his Friday morning Men's Bible Study.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the service following at 1 p.m.
