surrounded by family on Feb. 5, 2013. Herb was a devoted husband, father, and
grandfather.He graduated from the University of Alabama and was an
avid sportsman who loved hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. Like his mother, his
favorite hobby was gardening, especially Japanese Maples. Herb was a dedicated
employee of Allstate for over 20 years who truly enjoyed his work and was always
willing to help those in time of need. Herb was preceded in death by his parents Pershing
and Sarah Harris and older brother Roderick Harris. He is survived by his
wife of 35 years, SuMica Harris, son Joseph (Amanda) Harris, grandson Beau
Harris, brother Kynn (Lorie) Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends on Feb. 8, 2013, from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M., at Southern Heritage
Funeral Home and Cemetery. A service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. Interment
to follow.
