Hubert was a devoted and active member of Indian Springs Baptist Church, having faithfully served in many ways, including Minister of Music, Chairman of Deacons, Sunday School Director, choir member, Pastor Search Committee, and Deacon Emeritus. His commitment to the Church and its community of believers was unwavering and driven by his commitment to Christ.
He dedicated most of his work life to Alabama Power Company, retiring as a Safety Specialist after almost 40 years of service. He spent many stormy nights responding to power outages so others could enjoy the comforts of life.
Hubert and Christine were married over 67 years before she passed away. She was truly the love of his life. He cared deeply for his sons and sacrificed greatly to support them in their education and careers. After retirement he dedicated his time to volunteer work, primarily at Shelby Baptist Association and Shelby Iron Works Park. He also spent time supporting his grandchildren, cheering for them in whatever sport or activity they undertook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Indian Springs Baptist Church or Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.
