After her graduation from Minor High School, Inez earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts from Birmingham-Southern College. She married Thomas Harold Jones on July 28, 1951, launching her career as a housewife and homemaker. She delighted in establishing and maintaining their home as a place of safety and rest for her husband and their three children.
Inez was actively involved in community service with the Gadsden, Alabama Jaycettes. She became a competitive golf player while a member of the Inverness Country Club, the Greystone Country Club, and the Chace Lake Country Club. When she wasn't oil painting and sketching, she often could be found at Niki's on Finley Avenue in Birmingham.
Inez also enjoyed traveling outside the United States. She relished memories of her visit to Scotland and more than once said she would love to live in New Zealand someday.
