

FRENCH, JACK HOLT, 73, a Warsaw, Kentucky native and Pelham, Alabama resident, passed away Tuesday morning, January 18, 2011. A member of Indian Springs First Baptist Church, he was retired from the Parisian store at the Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, Alabama, where he was a top sales consultant for many years. Before that, he was a sales representative for Genesco Corp. of Nashville, Tennessee. Jack was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and in 1962 received the Army Commendation Medal, the highest peacetime award. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jacob French and Louanna Kendall French; and two brothers, Charles French and Willard French. Survivors include Jack's wife of almost 47 years, Peggy Bradley French; daughter, Heather Watters (Bob); granddaughter, Anastasia; grandson, Larkin; sister, Wanda French of Warsaw; four nephews, Denny, Kenny, Randy, and Charles French of Warsaw; and one niece, Gena Noell of Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 in Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham with Bro. Denny French and Dr. Buddy McGohon officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
