James Robert Ellard, 82, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Drury William and Leta Osborn Ellard, brother, Drury William Ellard, Jr. (Jean) and sister, Elaine Ellard McDonald (Charlie).
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Starr Segrest Ellard, stepdaughter, Blair Rehme, sister, Joanne Ellard Young (George) and several nieces and nephews that loved him and will miss him.
Bob was a part of Ellard Contracting Company, a family construction business for many years.
Bob was greatly loved by all his friends and family, who mourn his loss, and celebrate his wonderful life. He was funny, gentle, kind, compassionate and a giving person.
Bob loved his dog, Taz, and his houseboat on Logan Martin Lake where he and Starr spent many weekends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm with a service beginning at 2:00 pm.
