He is survived by Mary Bailey, his wife of 52 years; Katherine Bailey, daughter; Terry Bailey, son; Jessica Bailey, daughter-in-law; and Parker Bailey, grandson. He was preceded in death by Carl and Corrine Stroud, parents; Rebecca “Becky” Bailey, daughter; and Jacob Bailey, grandson.
Fred was a very active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama. He was an avid fan of the University of Alabama athletics, and he volunteered for many years with the athletic department of John Carroll Catholic High School. Fred was retired from the Firestone Company.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover, Alabama. The Mass of Christian Burial will be the same day at 11 a.m. at the church, and burial will be at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
Memorial gifts may be contributed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
