
James was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Cherry Ann; one son, Russell Skiles; and one daughter, Carol Skiles.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Connie D'Anna of Clay, Alabama and Becky Barlow (Greg) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; one son, James "Jimmy" Skiles (Lisa) of Knoxville, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Krystal Jarvis and Nikki Skiles; and two great-grandchildren, AnaMarie Jarvis and Jaxon Jarvis.
James came to know the Lord Jesus in September 1955 while living in Garland, Texas, and was active in serving the Lord in many capacities: Evangelism, Sunday School teacher, and at one time was Chairman of the Board of Directors at Garland Bible College. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Trussville, Alabama for 18 years, and taught a Sunday School class 17 of those years.
James was employed by Kraft Foods for 40 years. He began as a Sales Representative and moved up the ladder to District Sales Manager. He was awarded Kraft's highest service award, the Kraft Jade Ring, in 1976.
James will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, Alabama.
