James Wise, age 89, of Birmingham, Alabama went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024. The funeral service will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at Church of Brookhills. The visitation will be at 1:30, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will be after the service at Southern Heritage Cemetery for any who wish to attend. James was born on February 10, 1935 in Charleston, SC. Attended medical school at the University of Alabama medical school, specializing in orthopedics. He was married to Ruth Stallings for 67 years. They had 4 children and 8 grandchildren. He was also very active in his church, going on medical mission trips.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Carole Wills, his parents and siblings. The family extends a special thank you to Church of Brookhills and friends and neighbors at Kirkwood by the River for your prayers and support.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, at The Church at Brook Hills at 1:30 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm.
