James "Jim" W. Wise

Jim grew up in Brownwood, Texas, and was very active in many sports such as football, baseball, and his all time favorite-golf. He then went to Tarleton State College and on to pursue his career of being a PGA Golf Professional for over 50 years.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and going out to eat a juicy steak from time to time. He was always a character, never complained, always smiling. He was never shy of being in front of the camera and always had the same smile.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Thelma Wise. His brother, Lee Wise. And his son, Kenneth A. Wise.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lynda, with whom he shared his life with for almost 70 years. He is also survived by his children. Chris (Martha) Wise of Birmingham, Alabama. Kerri Wise of Chelsea, Alabama. Mike (Madolyn) Wise of Bullard, Texas. Grandchildren: Brittiany (Danny) Fisher of Rentz, Georgia; Tyler (Katy) Wise of Gulf Shores, Alabama; Emily Wise of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; and Catherine Wise of Tyler, Texas. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Wise of Chelsea, Alabama; Elsie McGirt of Norman, Oklahoma; Colter and Ivy Wise of Gulf Shores, Alabama. His sisters Opal Lou Kington and Meichele Wise Pittman. As well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 21, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will conclude in the adjoining cemetery.
