

Jason Paul Watts of Calera, Al, passed away on February 27, 2026. He was born to Larry and Rose Watts on April 29, 1979, in Shreveport, LA. Jason lived there for four years before moving to Birmingham, Alabama. He always had a special place in his heart for Alabama and considered it home. Jason attended Valley Elementary School and was a graduate from Foley High School. Following high school, he went on to pursue a degree from Faulkner State. While attending college, he met Dana Nicholson on the internet. His spark of interest in her took him to live with his brother David in Pocatello, Idaho. As his love interest grew, he eventually moved to Richland, Washington. Jason and Dana married and would then settle in Pelham, AL. Not long after their move, they were blessed with their first child, Lauren Ann. The couple became restless again and moved to Richland, WA. After a few years, their family would grow once again, and they were blessed with a son, Tyler Eugene.
Professionaly Jason worked for Holiday Inn and Walgreens. He was an employee who could promote peace and calmness in the workplace. He is normally described as a kind and sweet gentleman. In his last years, he became devoted to Jesus and would help contribute to the homeless. He was known to discreetly add food and other supplies to bends set out for the needy. Jason also loved his country and would express his patriotism by displaying the American flag. He also loved cars, and most of all his family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edna Earle and David Eugene Watts, Sam Paul Bruno, and Art and Concetta Bruno Lawson; brother, Christopher Eugene Allison.
Jason leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Dana Marie Watts; parents, Larry and Rose Watts; children, Lauren Ann Watts and Tyler Eugene Watts; siblings, Angela Elward (Chris) and David Watts (Amber); and grandchild, Wynter Mae Norwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Diabetes Association or any favorite charity.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will conclude at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
