Jean Marie Ceravolo Tortomase, 84, of Hoover, AL passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021. Due to health concerns for many, the family will hold a private graveside service at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham, AL. Rev. Raymond Remke will officiate.
Jean was born on August 12, 1936 to Elizabeth and Bernard Ceravolo Sr. She grew up in Woodlawn, AL and attended Woodlawn High School.
Jean was married to Anthony Tortomase for 60 years. Due to his blindness, she was a loving and caring helpmate and was never far from his side. They had two children, Michael and Lea Ann, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Michael Tortomase, and siblings, Frank Ceravolo (Jean), Bernard Ceravolo Jr. (Anna Mae), and Carrie Schifanella.
Survivors include one son, Michael J. Tortomase (Peggy); one daughter, Lea Ann Watts (Richard); grandchildren, Elizabeth Tortomase Kruse (Lubin), Anthony Tortomase II (Viviana), Angela Tortomase Ferentinos (Phillip), Matthew Watts, and Jonathan Watts (Whitney); great-grandchildren, Lena Kruse, Landri Kruse, and Lewis Watts.
The family expresses their deep appreciation for the caregivers from Family Private Care who provided companionship and care in Jean's last few years.
