Jeanette Judith Conner

CONNER, JEANETTE J. "JUDY" of Birmingham, AL was born to eternal life, Sunday, November 14, 2010. Judy was born in Gates, PA. She lived in New Kensington, PA, where she was very active in community projects, PTA president, cancer drives, and Mother's March on Polio. She moved to Huntsville in 1968, and was very active in the Friendship Club, Hospitality Club, and served as its President in 1977. She was an avid tennis player, bowler, bridge player, and ballroom dancer. Judy was employed by Books-A-Million for 5 years in Huntsville. She moved to Birmingham in 2003 and resided at Lakeview Estates until 2005 and was most recently living at Shelby Ridge. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care that Shelby Ridge and New Beacon Hospice provided Judy during her residence and illness. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Yanchus; sister Mary Ellen Stefancin; and brother Harold Yanchus. She is survived by her children Lanna Gardner (Norm) of North Carolina, Joe Kral (Toni) of Wisconsin, and Jon Kral (Vicki) of Birmingham; grandchildren Heather, Sean, Angela, Joe, Ryan, and Taylor; and brother John Yanchus of Michigan. There will be a visitation on Monday, November 15, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 605 Airport Rd, Huntsville, AL 35802.
