

Born on April 18, 1939 in Lanett, Alabama, Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who dedicated her life to serving others and walking in faith. For over 30 years, she was an active and cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham, Alabama, where she faithfully lead the homebound ministry for many years.
Family was at the heart of everything Jeanette did. "Mate Mate" was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and laughter.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae Fox Bowen and John Thomas Bowen; husband, Dale; siblings; and daughter, Jean. Jeanette is survived by her children, Alison (Bill) Duke and Les (Gaye) Owens; her grandchildren, Tami (Steve) Boyd, Jason (Celeste) Stonicher, Paige (Iain) Steel, Aubry (Chris) Mosley, Eric Lairson, Abigail (John) McKay, and Dale (Lillie) Duke; and her great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and faith will live on through them and all whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama from 10-11 a.m., followed by A Celebration of Jeanette's Life at 11 a.m. at the funeral home's chapel. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
Jeanette will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her faith, love, and the countless ways she blessed those around her.
