

Jeri Elizabeth "Libba" Carter, 60, of Montevallo, Alabama, passed away Wednesday morning, July 8, 2026. She was born October 1, 1965 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Martha Jean Hackler and Jerry Jack Hackler.
Jeri's life was centered around her personal relationship with Jesus Christ; her husband, children, and grandchildren; and her faith family at Quarry Church in Alabaster, Alabama. Her favorite pastimes included doting on her grandkids, cooking, getting her nails and hair done, and vacationing at the beach.
In addition to her parents, Jeri was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Lucinda Joyce Carter. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Rayburn Carter, to whom she was married on March 24, 1984; their children, Adrian Carter Finley (Jonathan), Katelyn Carter Anderton (Jordon), Lauren Carter Hobson (David), Mitchell Carter (Brittany), and Kendall Carter Hartley (Cole); grandchildren, Ava Claire Finley, Emma Reese Finley, Payten Grey Anderton, Elizabeth Blair Hobson, and Crew Griffen Carter; sister, Cindi Began (Keith); father-in-law, Rayburn Carter; and step-mom, Patricia Hackler.
Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 1-2 p.m., followed by A Service of Thanksgiving to God for Jeri's Life. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Pastor Bryan Alderman will officiate.
