Jerry C. Pemberton

Jerry was born on January 6, 1947 to Alton Claudis Pemberton and Lula Irene Taylor in Alexander City, Alabama. He graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 1965 and attended Auburn University where he studied Electrical Engineering and graduated in 1969.

After graduating from Auburn, Jerry met Phyllis Duke Pemberton, also from Alexander City, before starting work for South Central Bell in Birmingham. Jerry and Phyllis were married in July 1973 and went on to have two children, Heather Pemberton Redd and Keith Brandon Pemberton.

Jerry retired from AT&T in 2015 after more than 40 years of dedicated service. Since retiring, Jerry loved spending time with his family especially at Christmas time.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Phyllis Duke Pemberton, parents, Alton Claudis Pemberton and Lula Irene Taylor, sister, Joyce Pemberton Moore, and sister, Dora Pemberton Nabors. He is survived by his son-in-law and daughter, Jason and Heather Redd, grand-daughter, Anne Redd, grandson, Caleb Redd, son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Joy Pemberton, grandson, William Pemberton, and his sister, Sherry Pritchard.

Services will be held at Southern Heritage funeral home in Pelham, Alabama on Saturday, May 27, 2023. Visitation will be at 10:00 am followed by the funeral at Noon and a graveside service.

The family requests donation be made to Aldridge Gardens in Jerry’s name as it is a place enjoyed most.
