

John Jacob Compston III, age 36, of Alabaster, AL, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016. John lived a full life to the very end. He enjoyed boating, camping, riding his motorcycle, and sky diving. The three children he had too little time with were his pride and joy.
John, an Eagle Scout, was a U.S. Navy veteran who proudly served on a submarine for his country.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, John Jacob Compston Sr., and his aunt, Tammy Compston. Survivors include John's wife, Robin Johnson Compston; his parents, Questa Hott (Mark) and John Jacob Compston Jr. (Margaret); two daughters, Reagan Rochelle Stapleton and Ruby Ann Stapleton; one son, Brock Johnson Stapleton; sisters, Tara Compston Shumaker, Jennifer Compston Lilly, and Christina Compston Brown; step-sisters, Courtney Hott and Kristy Chasteen Gorsuch; step-brothers, Adam Hott and John W. Chasteen; and many nieces and nephews whom he greatly loved and adored.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the 11 a.m. service in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Rev. Mike Gordon will officiate.
