

David was a devoted father, grandfather, employer and friend. He was the proud owner for 34 years of David’s Pharmacy and Gift Shop in Sumiton, AL, where he was a great supporter of the community with his kindness and generosity.
David was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea, AL. He attended and graduated from Ensley High School and Samford University School of Pharmacy. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Douglas Kelley and Tahnell Davidson Kelley. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Patsy Smith Kelley; daughters, Kandice Kelley Thomas (Wade) and Ashlee Kelley Harper (Christian); four grandchildren, Kirkland and Walker Thomas and Camden and Sullivan Harper; brother, Robert Douglas Kelley, Jr. (Jeannie) from Sylva, NC; sister, Betty Kelley Snider from Alabaster, AL; extended loved family Harriet and Jerry Isbell, Jennifer Isbell Tew (Chad, Skylar Brooke) and Jeffrey Isbell (Meghan); several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many employees and a community who all loved him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. Brother Tim Cox and Rev. Wayne Honeycutt will officiate.
