"Ed" Lee, age 83, of the Inverness community of Birmingham, AL passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013. He was a loving husband of 52 years, a leader and mentor to his sons and grandchildren, and a good friend and avid golfer. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Lee and Lida Mae Smith Lee; sister, Virginia Wells; and brother, David Lee. Survivors include Ed's wife, Virginia Mitchell Lee; two sons, John E. Lee III (Amber) and Steven Mitchell Lee; three grandchildren, Savannah, Abigail, and Preston; and two brothers, Frank Lee and Robert Lee. Visitation will be one hour before the 12 noon memorial service Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the chapel of Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL. Rev. Marcus Wright will officiate.
