Johnnie Lee Pitts Jr.

Johnnie attended Ocean Springs High School, where he played football as an offensive guard, and graduated in 1971. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years with an honorable discharge in 1976.

Johnnie received a Bachelor of Science Degree at The University of Southern Mississippi in 1985. He worked at The Southern Company for 32 years primarily as a systems analyst.

Johnnie was a loving husband and a beloved and caring father. May we all be as thoughtful in our lives as he was.

Johnnie was predeceased by his parents, Johnnie L. Pitts Sr. and Betty G. Humble Pitts. Survivors include his wife, Vikki L. Pitts; two sons, Jason L. Pitts (Megan) and Jamison A. Pitts; one grandchild, Miriam Mayfield; three sisters, Donna J. Pitts Farrington (Arthur), Diana L. Pitts Wilson (Kenneth), and Patricia A. Pitts Bellman (John); one sister-in-law, Dodie L. Neal (James K. Neal); many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by a Celebration of Johnnie's Life and Legacy at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham.
