

Mrs. Coleman was born on September 16, 1921 in Comanche, TX. She lived in Birmingham for 56 years, and was a long-time member of Shades Mountain Church of Christ.
Mrs. Coleman was predeceased by her parents, John and Georgia Boyd; husband, Norman Calhoun Coleman; son, Norman Bruce Coleman; sisters, Ella Whittenburg and Louise Powell; and brothers, Vernon Boyd, Homer Boyd, Hugh Boyd, and Ray Boyd.
Survivors include Mrs. Coleman’s daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Coleman Wise (John); daughter-in-law, Sally Coleman; five grandchildren, Jeff Coleman (Leslie), Amanda Cooper, Coleman Wise (Emily), Blaine Wise, and Alexa Perry (Wes); four great-grandchildren, Madelyn Coleman, Gannon Coleman, McKinney Wise, and Boyd Wise; and five nieces, Brenda Menzies (John), Mary Kay Hayman (Bill), Tricia Carey (Jay), Phyllis Barnes (Jimmy), and Lisa Dunagan (Jamie).
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by A Celebration of Johnnye Coleman’s Life & Legacy at 3 p.m. at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham. Pastor Mel Futrell will officiate.
