Jolee Wintermantel

Jolee Wintermantel, age 72, of Birmingham, AL, passed away on June 21, 2026. She was born to Joe and Lucretia Thornhill on December 5, 1953, in Phoenix, AZ. Jolee graduated from Calhoun Community College, where she played tennis. She had a successful career as an administrative assistant in the banking industry, retiring from BBVA Compass after many years of dedicated service. On February 24, 1973, she married the love of her life, Richard Wintermantel, beginning a marriage filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories. She had a passion for staying active and enjoyed playing pickleball, often sharing those activities with family and friends. A devoted fan of Alabama football, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Crimson Tide. For many years, she also played keyboard on a church worship team. Above all, she treasured time spent with her loved ones and will be remembered for her warmth, strong faith, and love for Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lucretia Thornhill, and her sister Becky Thornhill.

Jolee is survived by her loving husband Richard Wintermantel, children, Nick Wintermantel and Delight Anderson, grandchildren, Hadley Anderson, Cherish Anderson, Kaitlyn Wintermantel, Davis Wintermantel, Vivi Wintermantel, Sarah Wintermantel, Siblings, Mark, Lowell, Joel, Charlie, and Tressie.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with a celebration of Jolee's life at 3:00 pm at the Church of Highlands in the chapel at the Grants Mill Location.
