Joseph Vincent Cicio Jr. , age 91, of Indian Springs, AL passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and had an Honorable Discharge. He, along with his three brothers, was inducted as an honorary charter member into the National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA. He owned and operated Maples Market in Bessemer, AL for many years with his wife Lena Maple Cicio. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lena Maple Cicio. He is survived by his children, Rose Ann Caiola, Joette (Ron) Hood, Joey (Barbara) Cicio, Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Aulet; grandchildren, Stephen Caiola, Rachel and Zachary Aulet; sisters, Rose Dichiara, Lena Giardina and Ann Cicio; brothers, Anthony and Frank Cicio. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb 13, 2013 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church from 2-3pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 3pm. A burial will follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Lakeview Estates Assisted Living and Golden Living Rehab in Riverchase. Family request donations be made to American Heart Assoc. or Our Lady of the Valley Building Fund.
