He is survived by his parents and his brothers, John Vise and Jason Vise, all of Birmingham, Alabama. He is also survived by his grandparents, Stephen (Papa) Vise, Juanita (Gramere) Krtausch, Barnett (Grandpa) and Peggy (Grandma) Payne. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda (Lele) Vise.
Joseph is also survived by his uncle, Mike Payne (Martha); and his aunts, Rachael (Jamie) Hill, Valerie Payne, and Susan Vise. His cousins are Nicole Payne, James (Laura) Hill, Ivy and Etta Hill, Jacob Hill, Joshua Payne, and Allison Benvenuti.
Joseph was a graduate of Oak Mountain High School and of Jefferson State Community College. He loved the Lord, his family, and his dog Simon. Throughout his life, he loved attending and volunteering in church. He had many hobbies and a love of all things beautiful. He was a very gifted athlete and played baseball, golf and tennis. He enjoyed riding his scooter around town, and he especially loved riding his dirt bike in the woods and at the family farm in Calera, Alabama.
Joseph also loved making friends through online gaming. He was very involved in Boy Scout Troop 538. He loved music and had a beautiful voice. He was a true patriot who genuinely loved his country. He was the kindest, gentlest soul this world has ever known. He never said a bad word about anyone, and he was always helpful, understanding and encouraging to others.
Joseph had the heart of a servant, and he always took the time to talk to people. He saw the best in everyone.
A Celebration of Joseph’s Life will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Christ Church in Birmingham, with Rev. Mark Lacey and Rev. Sam Williamson officiating. Visitation will be at the church following the service.
The family requests that donations in Joseph Patrick Vise’s memory be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Red Cross, The Immune Deficiency Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
