

She was a graduate of Sulligent High School and Samford University.
Judy had a life-long love for music and was an accomplished pianist. She sang with choirs and choral groups throughout her life, later played handbells and especially enjoyed her years as a member of Birmingham Newcomer Singers.
After college, Judy taught high school history and choral until she retired to raise a family. She was devoted mother and grandmother affectionately called “Ju-Ju” by her grandsons.
Judy is survived by her son, Ky Smith of Navarre, Florida, her daughter Amanda Traywick (John) and three grandsons, John Michael, David, and Jacob Traywick, all of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. She leaves behind a large extended family that will miss her presence greatly and a group of wonderful, life-long friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Carey Waldrop, Jr., her mother, Sammie Bolin Waldrop and her brother, William Carey Waldrop III, all of Sulligent ,Alabama.
Visitation will be at Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11am directly followed by a Celebration of life at noon. Graveside services will be at Sulligent City Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Jimmy Hale Mission.
